Encore Players and Danny’s Place Youth Services today announced five upcoming performances of “13”. Recently ending its successful run on Broadway, this hot, hip new musical with music and lyrics by Tony-winning Jason Robert Brown, is a grown-up story about growing up. The show will feature 22 talented young actors ages 13- 15 from Acton, Concord, Dunstable, Boxborough and Hudson. The musical will debut on Friday, July 16th at 7 p.m. at the Thoreau School Auditorium at 29 Prairie Street in Concord. The show dates are July 16, 17 and 18 and will include performances at 7 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday as well as two matinees at 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
“The cast is awesome, full of really talented kids who are excited to be able to do this terrific show together,” noted David Nicholson, who plays Archie, a physically-challenged boy who befriends Evan, played by Ryan LaForest, when he moves to Indiana.
“13” is directed by Cheryl Carter-Miller. Music Direction by Lisa Marcus Jones and Choreography by Gina Flaherty. Carolyn Nicholson is producing the show and Carol Bradley is Assistant Director. The show contains subject matter, language and innuendo that might be considered inappropriate for younger audiences.
