Recipe of the Week: Homemade Ranch Dressing with Chopped Salad
This week, Alma from a takebackthekitchen.com is sharing a recipe with us that is more assembling than cooking. If you are nervous about presenting a lunch for a friend or your family, how about trying this recipe on for size? You cannot go wrong. Alma altered a recipe from the new book: The Pioneer Woman Cooks.

Ranch Dressing:
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1 small garlic clove, pressed through a garlic press
1/2 cup real mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream
1/2 cup buttermilk, depending on how thick you want the dressing
1/2 teaspoon white vinegar
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/8 teaspoon paprika 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Dash of hot sauce,
2 TBS chopped scallions

Mix all the ingredients together until combined and keep chilled in fridge. Pour over your favorite salad!

Optional Chopped Salad:
4 cups washed and chopped greens
2 TBS pecan halves
2 TBS dried cherries or craisins
1 chopped hard boiled egg

Meet Alma. Her hectic life is one that many of us would recognize…she's a licensed clinical social worker, runs a non-profit, Parents Who Rock, and has four kids under the age of eight. But here's the hitch…she still gets a homemade dinner on the table every night of the week, and oh yeah, breakfast and lunch too!

Alma is an amazing chef and she is revolutionizing how women approach meal planning on her blog www.takebackthekitchen.com.  She'll be helping Suzy's galpals Take Back the Kitchen by sharing her delicious and simple recipes.
