Stop the junk mail madness.
Here are some tips to cut down on the unwanted mail you receive:
Register your name with the Direct Marketing Association (www.dmachoice.org). By doing so, you'll be listed in the group's database in the "Do Not Mail" category. This move will cut down on the unwanted mail but probably won't end it entirely.
You can also log on to www.OptOutPreScreen.com which will enable you to remove your name from lists that mortgage, credit card and insurance companies use to mail offers and solicitations.
Start saving those unwanted catalogs... Yes, save 'em. If only to unsubscribe from them.
Catalog Choice is a free service that allows you to decide what gets in your mailbox. Use it to reduce your mailbox clutter, while helping save natural resources. Sign up and opt out. The service takes 10 weeks to kick in.
Suzy's Tip: Click on "Preferences" to ensure that you register all the different names that catalogs are addressed to. You. Your Spouse. Your nickname. Your maiden name. Current Resident.
