Meet Yer Eats

Market Central invites you and your family to Meet Yer Eats on September 6th!  What in the world does that mean?  Suzy is happy to tell you!

Market Central - a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing the Charlottesville City Market - is hosting its 2nd Annual Meet Yer Eats Farm Tour - a chance for all of us to experience the sounds, smells and tastes of the amazing small farms that grow the fabulous food that we purchase at the City Market Saturday mornings.  This is your chance to see real, working farms and meet the hard-working folks who live near you.  

Learn about the latest sustainable techniques that produce great food while protecting water quality and pollinators - learn about the benefits of locally produced food - pick up tips for your own garden - let your kids see where their food comes from!

This year there are 18 participating farms, featuring many of the markets most popular growers. The event runs from 10am - 4pm on Monday, September 6 (Labor Day) and costs a mere $10 per carload in advance - what a bargain! Check out the website at www.marketcentralonline.org for more details.  



SUZY SCOOP:  You will probably only get to 4-5 farms in a day so plan accordingly.  And don't worry if you miss one this year, you can see them next year!
