Vernal Pools Night Hike
Some of nature's tiniest vertebrates make the loudest sounds in the spring. Join the wader-clad naturalists at the New Canaan Nature Center on an evening exploration of the Nature Center's vernal pools. These shallow bodies of water form from melting snow and spring rain and are the most important breeding grounds for many of our native amphibians. Learn to identify these animals by sound and if you're are lucky, by sight as well!
