Darien Nature Center Fall Programs
Do you have a youngster who's fascinated by animals and the world around them?  Register them for a Darien Nature Center fall program.

Afterschool Programs- Fall 2009
Animal Caretakers Club
Grades 1 – 6
Members of the Animal Caretakers Club learn all about the animals by cleaning their habitats, feeding and exercising them.  Great afterschool fun for the budding Zoo Keeper!

Trail Trekkers
Pre-K and Kindergarten
Afterschool nature discovery program which includes games, animals and outdoor exploration.  Children learn animal tracking and plant identification. Myths, legends and much more will help to spark their curiosity for the natural world.

Nature Detectives
Grades 1 through 3
Investigate, classify, and demystify nature's myths.  What's the deal with the platypus?  Has it ever rained frogs?   Did you know that sea stars eject their stomachs to eat?  Children  will learn about the crazy and weird phenomenon found in nature through games, crafts and hands on investigations.  Animal visitors will be featured each week.

Read to the Animals with Nina Miller for grades 2 - 4
Children practice reading to an animal friend
