H2O for Life, Kids helping Kids

It's Back-to-School time and the perfect time to think about how we can get our kids thinking about helping other kids around the workd.
Minnesota middle school teacher Patty Hall is looking for schools across the country to join her fight to help kids around the world have the most important thing in life - water. Through her volunteer travels to Africa on many occasions she made friends with local villagers. One of those friends reached out to Patty for help. They were out of water - the river had dried up, could she help? Through that one question, a movement was born. Meet H2O for Life: School to School, an official 501 (c) 3 Organization that partners with global schools facing water shortages, helping to fund water collection and sanitation projects. For under $10,000 sustainable water sources can be built in these villages, a very doable number, achievable on a single school basis.
The mission of H2O for Life is to provide funds to directly support projects in developing countries designed to make clean water available and sustainable to schools in these countries which are in need of water, sanitation, and hygiene education. Through service learning projects, U.S. schools will raise the funds necessary to complete water projects, thereby bringing water to their partner schools. Another outcome, as important as water funding to our mission, is for youth in U.S. Schools to become knowledgeable and invested in the global community and become activists for change. The sustainability of these and other service projects throughout the world depends on the next generation's involvement. This is an opportunity students to make a difference!
