The Darien Health Department and the Rowayton Library will be offering the following flu clinics this fall:
Darien Senior Center:
Tuesday, September 27th, from 9:30 to 11:30 AM
Tuesday, October 18th, from 9:30 to 11:30 AM
Darien Town Hall:
Thursday, October 6th, from 3 to 7:00 PM
The cost is $30.
The vaccine is preservative free and available to anyone over the age of 3!
If you have questions about whether you should get a seasonal flu vaccine, please consult your health care provider.
The flu clinic held on October 6 will feature the option of getting vaccinated without the old fashioned needle! For those afraid of needles - the PharmaJet system utilizes a high pressure inoculation through the skin, without the dreaded needle. For those who prefer the tried & true method, traditional injections will also be available. It will be the same exact vaccine, same cost, just administered differently. Darien will be the first location in Connecticut to utilize this method of vaccine delivery.

CVS Licensed Pharmacists will offer seasonal flu vaccinations - the 2011 "All-in-one Influenza Vaccine" (Influenza A & Influenza B & H1N1) - to adults 18 years of age and older at the Rowayton Library, Saturday, October 1st from 10am to 2pm. No appointment is necessary.
CVS will take care of billing Medicare or Medicaid with no charge to you, the client. For all others, the standard seasonal flu shots cost $29.95 per person. Residents with Medicare or Medicaid are asked to bring their insurance cards for verification of benefits.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend that everyone ages six months and older get a flu shot as soon as possible, including those who were vaccinated last season.
