A City Favorite Comes to the Burbs
Suzy's always been told that Fairway truly is "like no other market", but she had to see it to believe it.

The grocery mega-store opened last week in Stamford, just in time for the holiday season and Fairfield's Sissy Biggers gave Suzy a behind-the-scenes tour.
Unlike other local specialty grocery stores, Fairway combines gourmet-specialty items with with traditional foodstuffs.  Translation: you can get Ziploc baggies and Diet Coke along with your artisanal cheese and fresh roasted coffee beans.

The first thing you'll notice when you enter the 85,000 square foot store are the floor to ceiling displays of fruits and vegetables – the market’s heart and soul – abound. The seafood counter and butcher shop with fresh cut meat and poultry offer an amazing selection and great prices.

Other stand-out features include master coffee roasters freshly roasting coffee beans on the premise, a cheese counter with over 600 artisanal cheeses, a hand pulled mozzarella station, over 50 kinds of freshly bathed and marinated olives, and an enormous olive oil selection.

If you find yourself hungry while shopping, there is an 80 seat café where shoppers can select sandwiches, pizza, sushi, salads, and soups.
