Rock on new Canaan-ites, the School of Rock is coming to town.
Dubbed as the nation's leader in rock music education for kids with over 60 schools nationwide, the rockin' school of music is about to call downtown New Canaan home on December 27, 2010!
Since 1998, School of Rock students have learned from professional musicians in an interactive environment, combining weekly private lessons and structured group rehearsals with the ultimate goal of performing classic rock live in front of real crowds.
They teach guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and vocals to anyone from beginners to seasoned guitar gods. Their sister school in Fairfield has been rockin' for two years and has enrolled well over 140 students.
To kick off the school's Winter 2010-2011 programs, there will be an Open House event at the School of Rock / New Canaan on Saturday, 12/11 from 12 - 4 PM. Rock music will be performed by students from the Fairfield school, catering will be provided by Tony's Deli, instructors will be on hand to give sample lessons, and staff will be available to answer questions about programs and enrollment.

The School of Rock / New Canaan will host a Winter Break Rock Performance Camp from December 27-30th to provide a crash-course in their year-round program for interested students. This will run from 9:30 - 3:30 daily and conclude with a Thursday evening performance at a local venue in New Canaan.
