Monsters Aren’t Scary at Elm Street Books

Don't let the kids miss this Monster event!
Internationally beloved children’s author Ellen Blance of New Canaan will sign copies of “Meet Monster,” a new collection of her first six Monster Stories, from noon to 2:30 PM Saturday, April 23rd, at Elm Street Books, 35 Elm Street, New Canaan.
She and co-author Ann Cook developed a series of stories based upon children's interests and fantasies. To appeal to children, she used their own language patterns and vocabulary. Thus was born the Monster Stories. Eventually 36 stories were created and eventually translated into several different languages, including Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Italian, Japanese and Gaelic.
Blance has been reading her stories in New Canaan schools recently and telling children how they came to be written. She encourages her young readers (Monster’s friends) to correspond with her by email,
