Take A Fall Foliage Cruise Close To Home
Friday, October 09, 2009

Suzy's used to making the annual pilgrimage to VT to look at the changing fall colors, but if you're short on time, check out this unique option right in our own back yards.
Take a Fall Foliage Cruise with the Maritime Aquarium's marine science educators and sail the waters of Norwalk Harbor and Long Island Sound to learn about life at the shores and below the surface of the Sound as the seasons change.
When: Saturdays & Sundays in October @ 1 p.m.
What: Each 2 1/2-hour outing offers a memorable "window" onto the diverse marine life of Long Island Sound. Participants inspect marine animals collected from various underwater habitats, including a trawl net's harvest of crabs, fish, lobsters, clams, sea stars, oysters and always a few surprises.
As a seasonal bonus, the Maritime Aquarium educators will explain why this flora "bursts" with color during fall and also discuss how the Sound's animal population changes as winter approaches.
Cost: $20.50 ($18.50 for Maritime Aquarium members).
All passengers must over 42" tall.
Tickets can be purchased online here
