Winning at Youth Sports

The YWCA Parent Awareness Network and Darien Library present Mark Hyman, author of  "Until It Hurts: America's Obsession with Youth Sports and How It Harms Our Kids. With burnout and overuse injuries on the rise, how do parents protect their athlete’s emotional and physical health, and allow sports to achieve its valiant goal of building confidence, self-esteem, and success?

To help parents navigate the sports maze, sports journalist, Mark Hyman will discuss, “How to Win at Youth Sports” at Middlesex Middle School Auditorium on Thursday, April 28th, at 7:30 PM.

Mark Hyman, is a sports journalist based in Baltimore, Maryland, with a special interest in the role of adults in sports for children. He writes for many publications including The New York Times, Sports Illustrated and BusinessWeek.. He is also an athlete as well as the parent of an athlete.

This program is free of charge, is geared towards parents of children of all ages.
