See Where Creativity Begins
Thursday, September 25, 2008
Here's your chance to get an intimate view of where creativity all begins during the Silvermine Art Guild's Open Studio Tour.
The Center is holding open studio days on September 27th and 28th from10am to 4pm both days. This self guided tour provides a rare opportunity to meet the Guild artists in their studios and see them in action.
Established over 100 years ago, the Guild began as a gathering place where artists and art lovers came to appreciate, enjoy and learn about the arts. Silvermine continues this legacy today as one of America's most important art colonies.
Over 30 artists will be participating in the open studio days to include painters, printmakers, photographers, sculptors, ceramicists and crafts. Artwork will be available for sale at each studio with works ranging from museum quality to very affordable.
Studio Locations Open on Saturday, September 27th: New Canaan, Pound Ridge, Ridgefield, Redding, Wilton, Weston, Easton and Trumbull
Studio Locations Open on Sunday, September 28th: Stamford, Norwalk, Westport, Stratford, and Milford
Studios Locations by Appointment Only: Mt. Vernon and North Salem, New York; New Fairfield, New Haven and Oxford, Connecticut. Studio appointments should be made directly with the artist by Friday, September 26th.
$25 per person can be purchased at the Silvermine Gallery or calling 203-966-9700 ext. 20. Tickets must be purchased in advance of the tour.
A studio tour map (and badge) is your ticket and provides easy instructions to each artist's studio. Contact information for each artist will also be provided on the maps. Go for one day or two. This is a self-guided tour; you select the artists you'd like to visit and in the order most convenient for you. The maps and badges can be picked up at the Silvermine Gallery in advance of the tour.
