Candy Comes To Darien

Suzy was curious to say the least when she heard the name of the new candy shop in town. Who was Chunky Pam, and would a gal dubbed "chunky" really want it publicized on a big pink building on the Post Road?
You bet she would, since Pam is a 10 month old chunky bull dog soon to make her debut in the new shop that opened last week at 1096 Post Road across from the Darien Sport Shop. Rumor has it, Pam is "boning" up on her pooch etiquette and will soon be a permanent fixture in the shop.
Chief candy guru is Cliff Benham who left the world of finance to live his dream of owning a local candy shop.
The shelves are stocked with something for everyone including salt water taffy, chocolates, gummies by the truck load, gumballs, old time favorites and even a selection of sugar free and gluten free candy.
A couple of Cliff's favorites are amaretto pecans covered with milk chocolate and the dark chocolate covered cherries which are flying out the door.
Arriving this week will be terrific selection of high end chocolates including truffles and chocolate covered smores.
Store hours are Monday through Friday 10-6 PM and Saturday 10-9 PM and Sunday 12-4 PM.
