Galpal Review - Crumbs
Monday, April 13, 2009

Suzy is a cupcake junkie and was thrilled to read this review submitted by galpal Janine!
If you or the kiddies need a sweet fix then Crumbs on High Ridge Road in Stamford is the place to go. All cupcakes are made by hand with the finest ingredients and "baked with love", that is their motto! They have nine locations in Manhattan and now in Connecticut, with stores in New Canaan and Westport planned to open soon.
Crumbs has every flavored cupcake under the sun. Some yummy ones are blackout (my favorite), devil dog, caramel chew, boston crème, peanut butter cup, heath bar, s'mores, blueberry swirl, red velvet, cotton candy, butterfinger, chocolate snowball, lolly lacrumb, nestle crunch, twinkie, tiramisu, grasshopper and cappuccino. I tried the blackout cupcake and it was wonderful. It was very dense, rich and decadent. The dark chocolate frosting was not too sweet and did not overpower the moist cake.
The cupcakes are available in classic size for $2.25 and signature which is a bit larger in size and priced at $3.75 per cupcake. They are also available in a miniature size for $1.50 each, should you want just a little taste. Cakes are available in 4", 6" and 8" layer and also come in all these fantastic flavors, along with mouth watering fillings and frostings.
You can also pick up some hot flavorful coffee or a latte and indulge in a donut, cookie, brownie, muffin, scone or take a fresh pie to go. The atmosphere is inspired by old-time candy shops and are warm and inviting, with wood cases, marble counters and wall to wall sweet treats.
The cupcakes are a great gift to give someone. They can be ordered in increments of six and you can create your own cupcake box. The cupcake toppings are so decorative and festive. Biting into one just leaves you very satisfied and gives you an appreciation for the simple things in life!
