Tune in to School
Tuesday, September 08, 2009
It's that time of year. New backpacks and sharpened No. 2 pencils. Class syllabus and hall passes. School is back in session.
But some lessons are bigger than the classroom and Our President is trying to send that message to all students along with the help of Kelly Clarkson and LeBron James.
Families are urged to "get schooled" with the government's new education campaign being launched on national television September 8 at 8pm/7c.
The "I am what I learn" campaign encourages students of all ages to win scholarships through independent film and hopes to educate the country on the importance of school—by demanding the right to college planning, challenging classes and frequent progress reports.
So set your DVRs, fill the bowl with freshly popped popcorn and tune in to Nickelodeon because President Obama wants our future leaders to know "the one thing you'll never learn in school is how important school is."
