The Fairfield Public Library is kicking off their annual Money Smart Week 2017 this week.  It's a national initiative to further financial literacy. This is the fourth year the Library has joined the Money Smart Week celebration. There are many different seminars and activities to take part in.  Here's the scoop:

Money Smart Week 2017 (April 22-29)
“Budget Planning Using Microsoft Excel”, a hands-on class in the computer lab, Saturday April 22, 9:30 am
“Crowdfunding”, Monday April 24, 7:00 pm
“Cupcake Shop”, for children in grades 2-5, Tuesday, April 25, 6:00-6:45 pm
“How to Build Your Business as an Artist”, Tuesday, April 25, 7:00 pm
“How to Pay for College Without Bankrupting Yourself . . . or Your Children”, Wednesday, April 26, 7:00 pm
“Craft Swap Party”, Thursday, April 27, 6:00-7:30 pm (at the Fairfield Woods Branch Library)
“Tax Planning Strategies”, Thursday, April 27, 7:00 pm

During Money Smart Week they're also kicking off a “Women and Money Roundtable”, on consecutive Wednesday mornings. Programs in this series are:
“Behavioral Finance: Why Smart People Make Bad Investment Decisions”, Wednesday, April 26, 11:00 am
“Children and Money”, Wednesday, May 3, 11:00 am
“The Keys to Building Your Investment Portfolio”, May 10, 11:00 am

One-on-One Financial Counseling” continues to be offered on the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month from 10:00 am until noon. Sign up for a 30-minute session with a financial coach and create a budget, set financial goals, review your credit report and more. Money Smart Week is a national education campaign designed to provide financial literacy programs for all stages of life. Started by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago in 2002, public and private organizations offer thousands of free classes and educational activities as part of this initiative.
