Star Wars Reads Day!

Star Wars Reads Day

Don't miss the sixth annual Star Wars Reads Day at the Fairfield Public Library. It's one of their most popular events for all ages!

The event is sure to get you ready for the December release of the next Star Wars film, Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Dressing up as your favorite Star Wars character is encouraged (adults, too!). You can play with littleBits R2-D2 kits, make your own light saber, learn master light saber techniques with the Kempo Academy (always a favorite), make “Wookiee Life Day” ornaments and other crafts, and attend special story times. Plus the 501st Legion will make a special appearance in full regalia.

Saturday, December 9, 1:00-5:00 PM

Special features:
Light-up “Wookiee Life Day” ornaments
Paper and foam crafts
Droids and other robots with the Robotics team from Choate Rosemary Hall
A Very Star Wars Storytime
Experiment with littleBits R2-D2 droid kits
Master lightsaber techniques with the Kempo Academy of Fairfield
The 501st Legion will make a special appearance! Get your cameras ready!

STARLAB will turn the Library’s Rotary Room into a planetarium that projects fascinating images of the stars. Folklore from Greece, Africa, Native American tribes and other cultures will come alive during each 45-minute session in this story time for children in grades 2-6. There will be STARLAB story times at 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 pm. Star Wars Reads Day is a drop-in event, but registration is required for the STARLAB story times.
