One of the best ways to introduce yourself, and your product or service, is through networking. If you are hesitant to attend networking events because you aren’t sure what goes on there, or you aren’t comfortable in a room full of strangers, or have attended a few without any results, this program is for you. Join presentation coach Debbie Fay and learn and practice solid networking skills that work -- including: the key components of elevator speech, how to work the room, maximize the experience and follow-up afterwards. This program will take place Monday, June 18 at 7:00 pm at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road.
Debbie Fay founded Bespeak Presentation Solutions in 2006. She delivers public speaking, coaching, training and presentation development to individuals and businesses. Debbie has a BA in History and English as well as Secondary Education Certification from Michigan State University. She is currently a master’s candidate for Train the Trainer Certification in Communication and Leadership from Gonzaga University.
This talk is a joint program of the Library’s award winning JOBS series and its Small Business Strategies series. JOBS talks are supplemented by a LinkedIn networking group, one-on-one career counseling sessions and a weekly Job Search Boot Camp. Small Business Strategies is a series for current and prospective entrepreneurs, presented through a partnership with the Greater Bridgeport chapter of SCORE, a non-profit dedicated to helping small businesses succeed through education and mentorship. Podcast recordings of past presentations from both of these series are available online at www.fairfieldpubliclibrary.org.
