Got Strong Bones?
Traditional Chinese Medicine looks at two main factors as main causes of osteoporosis: Qi (energy) deficiency of the kidneys and imbalance between the spleen and stomach. This workshop will focus on how to strengthen bones & muscles through the practice of Qigong and Tai Chi. Regular practice has been shown to improve one's bone density as well as one's balance.

What the Workshop Includes:
• Hour-long standing practice of specific forms that work to strengthen bones and muscles including proper postural alignment of the spine, the Bear & Deer Animal Frolics, as well as different Qigong walking forms to strengthen the legs, hips and back.
• Meditations to cleanse the body of impure Qi and cultivate new, vital energy.
• Healing sounds to strengthen organs in particular the kidneys. According to TCM the kidneys are responsible for bone growth, in particular the formation of bone marrow.
• Informative Handouts.

The workshop is 1.5 hours in length, beginning with discussion, followed by an hour standing practice and ending with a Qigong meditation focusing on bone & kidney health.
