Patriotic Parades
Friday, June 25, 2010

The Fairfield Museum and History Center is hosting a Patriotic Parade on Saturday. Deck out bicycles, doll carriages, wagons, scooters or skateboards with a patriotic flair for a parade around the Town Green. Dress up your favorite doll or stuffed animal and wear your favorite baseball cap or jersey! Following the parade, make your own flag and cool off with a popsicle at the museum. For children ages 7 and up with an adult. Please plan to pre-register for this free event.

Pequot Library has its 8th Annual, old fashioned Fourth of July bike parade from the center of Southport Village out to the Library at 720 Pequot Avenue. Hundreds of children with their families decorate bikes, scooters, strollers, even skateboards and, with a motorcycle escort (so cool!) compliments of the Fairfield Police Department, make their way through Southport along Pequot Avenue out to the Library.
Sunday, July 4th at 10 AM
Once at the Library, games and activities are offered for kids and adults alike including “Revolutionary” sack races, water-ballon tosses, and hula-hoop contests.
For more information about the 2009 Fourth of July Parade, call the Library at 203-259-0346.
