Kids Fun at the US Open
Wednesday, August 25, 2010

If you have a future tennis star in your house, you'll want to visit the US Open. And what better day to visit than on Arthur Ashe Kids Day, this Saturday August 28th. Suzy's heard that the Jonas Brothers/Demi Lovato concert is sold out, but there's still tons for little tennis fans to do. This all-day tennis playground features interactive games, tennis clinics, food, music and fun for kids of all ages. All of the activities on the stadium grounds are free to the public, and include aspirational fun like the Hess Express Obstacle Course, Beat the Pro, face painting, a juggling workshop, autograph sessions and more.
Grounds activities run from 9:30 am - 1 pm.
Arthur Ashe Stadium
Kennedy Circle (at Perimeter Rd)
Queens, NY
The fun doesn't stop after the Grounds activities end. SmashZone, located in the USTA Indoor Training Center, is a great tennis-themed indoor playground for the whole family. Get your kids properly fitted for a tennis racquet, play a quick game on SmashZone's Center Court, have your photo taken with a replica US Open trophy or tour the Tennis Hall of Fame Gallery. There's also a exhibit called Speed Serve that will clock your fastest serve. Or your little one can broadcast a US Open championship point in You Call the Shots.
SmashZone Hours:
Saturday, August 28th: 9:30 am - 5 pm
Monday, Aug. 30 - Monday, Sept. 6 - 10:00 am - 9:00 pm
