Southport Volunteer Fire Department’s annual open house

The Southport Volunteer Fire Department’s annual open house is this Saturday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The event aims to provide you and your family with information to help keep you safe, focusing on fire safety awareness and education. There will be hands-on activities, live demonstrations, equipment on display and much more. Take advantage of this opportunity to check out their equipment, fire apparatus and firehouse as well as visit with firefighters and ask questions.
The Westport Fire Department’s Fire Safety Trailer will be available for kids to practice what to do in the event of a fire. The Connecticut State Police will also be on hand with a rollover simulator illustrating the importance of wearing seat belts.

Celebrating over one hundred years of service to the residents of Southport and Fairfield, the Southport Volunteer Fire Department is always actively seeking new members willing to serve in both administrative and support roles as well as active firefighters.
