Suzy knows most galpals add an extra toy or two to their holiday shopping lists to give to area toy drives for less fortunate kids. This year, as in years past, CT-Moms is coordinating a charitable gift drive for area kids. But this year, the moms want you to remember the teens and  ‘tweens in your charitable efforts. Older kids can easily get lost in the bustle of Dora the Explorer and Thomas the Train. So CT-Moms is encouraging people to donate gift cards in $20 denominations to stores like WalMart, Target, Bob’s Sporting, FYE, Justice, Forever 21, Modell’s and Visa/MasterCard/AmEx gift cards, as well as general mall gift cards.

These gifts go directly to the local Department of Children and Families, and receipts for tax purposes will be issued directly from the department as well.
Donation deadline is December 16, and checks and gift cards can be sent to: CT-Moms Online; P.O. Box 106, Greens Farms, CT  06838.
