Connecticut NASA Space Day

The Discovery Museum and Planetarium is hosting Connecticut Space Day by the NASA this Sunday.  This free event features guest speakers and events all day long.

Sunday, April 1, 10 AM - 4 PM      
Admission is FREE.

Events to be held at The Discovery Museum and Planetarium:
• Guest Speaker, David Heshion, Noted Space Travel Historian and Artifact Collector
• 2 Live Presentations showing the rigors and challenges of living in space
• Hourly Henry B. duPont III Planetarium Presentations
• Westport Astronomical Society
• Apollo Moon Rocks on Loan from Johnson Space Flight Center
• Space-Related Make-and-Take Tables Staffed by University of Bridgeport Engineering Students

Weather-Permitting:
• Tethered Balloon Launch (in preparation for summer high-altitude launch 110,000 feet up!)
• Large-Scale (Up to 5 Feet Long) Model Rocket Launches
• Sun Scope Observation(Safe way to explore the sun)
• Observe the Night Sky with Large Aperture Telescopes, 7 p.m. (Orientation Followed by Outdoor Use of Telescopes)
