Exploring the Orchestra

The Stamford Museum and Nature Center's fun-filled mini-concerts for kids (ages 4 – 8) are back! Musicians from the Stamford Symphony return for another season of "Exploring the Orchestra", concerts that make learning so much fun that they always sell out. This season, children will move their Dancing Feet, sing along to Twinkle Tunes, and visit a Zany Zoo.
The Mini-concerts will be offered on winter Sundays at 1:00 and 2:30 pm.
January 11, 2009 Dancing Feet
Put on your dancing shoes for a program of waltzes, marches, polkas, and a little bit of jazz. Children will be introduced to the instruments of the woodwind family as well as percussion.
February 8, 2009 Twinkle Tunes
Songs about the moon and stars and the night sky introduce instruments from the string family. Special guest appearance by young musicians studying in the Suzuki string program.
March 8, 2009 Zany Zoo
Crazy characters from the Carnival of the Animals, the Flight of the Bumblebee, and other classical tunes enchant children as the strings and percussion perform.
Tickets are SM&NC members: $12 adults, non-members: $15 adults, and $8 all children.
Three concert subscriptions are: SM&NC members: $33 adults, non-members: $42 adults, and $21 for all children.
Each ticket includes admission to the grounds of the Stamford Museum & Nature Center which offers a small working farm, a museum, and an innovative playground. For more details on fun activities for the entire family visit www.StamfordMuseum.org.
