Food for Fines
Here's your chance to wipe your slate clean at the Fairfield Public Library.  They've teamed with Operation Hope for the Food for Fines drive beginning this Sunday and running through Saturday, February 14th.

For one week only, the Main Library and Fairfield Woods Branch will waive fines on overdue material in exchange for food for the Operation Hope Food Pantry.

For each library item returned February 8th through the 14th, no matter how long it has been overdue, the library will forgive all associated fines in exchange for a single non-perishable food or health care item. Additionally, the library will forgive outstanding fines for library materials previously returned. The library will waive $1 in accrued fines from a patron's account for each non-perishable food item donated, and will waive fees up to $15.

Operation Hope Food Pantry needs nonperishable food items and healthcare items that are not expired and that are in good condition. Welcomed items would be: macaroni and cheese, tuna, canned spaghetti, canned meats and stews, peanut butter & jelly, pancake mix & syrup, coffee, hot chocolate, sugar, salad dressings, cereals, instant hot cereals, canned fruit, fruit juices, mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, laundry detergent, soap, toothpaste/brushes, diapers (sizes 5-6), shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, and toilet paper.

If you don't have any overdue materials consider donating something on your visit this week anyway.

Note: This does not apply to overdue Library museum passes or Little Learners Circle Time Totes, nor will fees for lost or damaged materials be waived.
