One of Suzy's galpals introduced us to another community resource, the Jewish Community Center on Park Avenue in Bridgeport (on the Fairfield line).
It's not just a place to drop the kids for after-school activities but a family affair with activities for all ages.
The JCC offers Early Childhood Education (half-day preschool and extended day 7:30 AM-6 PM for working moms!) plus after-school programs for K-8 that pick up that many local public schools in Trumbull, Bridgeport and Fairfield (3-6 PM). When's school's out, the JCC is in with vacation camps for all ages.
On the sports side, there's toddler thru high school organized sports leagues and lessons. Pee Wee on up. A full slate of dance instruction is also available. (Check out the link below for full details.)
There's also a myriad of Jewish cultural programs for adults. As Galpal Megan attests: "It's a mom-friendly location for picking up coffee, doing swim/karate/dance/swim team/gymnastics/sports lessons, getting in a workout and a massage or participating in evening and weekend sports leagues for adults -- with babysitting on-site."
There's also a fitness center within the complex.
