Suzy's crazy dog, Ollie
Just when you thought government bureaucracy couldn't get any thicker...
Did you know that you need to get your dog a license to live in Fairfield?
Yes, your hard-earned tax dollars at work. (Suzy never heard about this and she's had a dog for 9 years!)
Fairfield Town Clerk Betsy Browne says that dogs six months of age or older must be licensed by July 1 each year.
You can purchase licenses at the Town Clerk's Office, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM. A current rabies certificate is required.
Cost: $8 for a spayed or neutered animal. If the dog hasn't been "fixed", the fee is $19. After July 1, a $1 per month penalty is added to the licensing fee.
To apply for the license by mail: send the required certificates to Betsy P. Brown, Town Clerk, 611 Old Post road, Fairfield, CT 06824. Please include a stamped, self-adressed envelope.
