Become A Donor
We received this email from the Community Theatre and decided to post it as they wrote it. Their heartfelt sadness is apparent and we hope that some of our Suzy subscribers will take the time to get to the Bone Marrow Drive on Friday. Suzy is a bone marrow donor, it's easy and could save  the life of someone like Robbie.

If you plan to attend, please email just so they have an idea of the numbers of people coming

BONE MARROW DRIVE: SPECIAL REQUEST

"It is with great sadness that I inform all our loyal patrons that one of our most dedicated volunteers, Robbie Greenberger (age 20), passed away last week after a 8 month battle with Leukemia.

Robbie was one of the sweetest and most caring people I have ever had the opportunity to get to know. His enthusiasm and love for the Community Theatre Foundation and all the work we do here was not only inspiring to myself and all the volunteers...but it was contagious. He was always smiling and willing to do anything that would somehow make the patrons experience at the Theatre more enjoyable. He loved the films, but more importantly, he LOVED people and making them feel special. It was his gift. If it was a Saturday night...his family knew where to find him!

In his honor, we are conducting a Bone Marrow Drive this Friday, August 22, from 3pm-6pm at the Theatre.

The staff at the Foundation has never asked our patrons for help with these types of things in the past...but we are asking you to please consider attending this Friday's event and get registered in the Bone Marrow Registry whether you knew Robbie or not as a favor to us.

All our patrons who get registered in the Bone Marrow database at the Theatre this Friday will receive a "10 pass" to the Community Theatre which entitles you to 10 free movies. There is NO BLOOD TAKEN and it only takes a few minutes.

On behalf of all the volunteers at the Foundation, I thank you for considering this opportunity to help others and make a difference as that is what Robbie would have wanted us all to do.

If you plan on attending, please email so we can plan accordingly and make sure your waiting time is minimal.

What to expect:
Joining the NMDP Registry is easy. Patients need donors who are between the ages of 18 and 60, meet the health guidelines and are willing to donate to any patient in need.

When you come to the Theatre, we will explain what it means to become a donor, help you understand your commitment, answer your questions and help you through the process.

All you need to do is:
· Complete a registration form with contact information, health history questions and a signed agreement to join the NMDP Registry. To help you complete the form, bring along:
Personal identification (such as a driver's license or passport)
Contact information for two family members or friends who would know how to reach you in the future if your address changes.
· Give a swab of cheek cells so your tissue type can be tested.

That's it!

Your tissue type is then added to the NMDP Registry. Doctors search our Registry when they need to find a donor for their patients. "
