Take a Hike
We're hopeful that Spring is really on the way.  Did you know that the Aspetuck Land Trust offers numerous educational and specialty hikes for adults and children that are open to everyone and offer a great way to explore and learn more about the diversity of over 1,700 acres of open space in our community.  Get out and take a hike!

TBV & NATURAL HISTORY HIKE @ Trout Brook Valley
April 17th, Sunday, 1:30 - 3:30 PM
Bradley Road Entrance to TBV, Weston.
Join backwoods expert and 40 year former Bridgeport Water Co. warden Joe Haines for a rare glimpse into our past.  Joe is the subject of local Easton writer James Prosek’s book, “Joe and Me: An Education in Fishing and Friendship.” This is a hike that you do not want to miss! You won’t find anyone who can talk about the outdoors and local history like Joe.
Park:  TBV permit parking at Bradley Rd entrance.

MOSS HIKE @ Trout Brook Valley

SPRING TREE HIKE @ Caryl & Edna Haskins Preserve
May 14th, Saturday, 3:30- PM
Come and enjoy the beauty and serenity of Westport's Haskins preserve.  Join tree expert Roger Knoop to learn about the unique tree specimens of Haskins Preserve, a 16-acre hidden gem.
Location: Haskins Preserve, Westport
Park: Haskins Preserve is on Green Acre Lane off South Compo Rd. Park inside the black gates.

TROUT FISHING @ Warner Anglers Preserve on Mill River
May 22nd, Sunday, 1-4 PM
Join Ron Merly, President Nutmeg Chapter of Trout Unlimited, and avid fisherman Mike Tritchonis, for an afternoon of trout fishing at the Warner Anglers Preserve on the Mill River.
Location: Warner Angler Preserve, Easton
Park: On Riverside Lane off South Park Road.  Walk south down South Park about 300 feet to the preserve on river.

SPRING BIRDING @ Newman Poses Preserve]
May 26th, Thursday, 5:30-7 PM
Come and join noted bird expert Milan Bull from CT Audubon Society for a special native bird walk. Bring your binoculars to this exciting event!
Location: Newman Poses Preserve, Westport
Park:  Newman Poses Parking lot located between 307 and 313 Bayberry Lane Extension (extension is north of Easton Rd/Rte 36)

NATIONAL TRAILS DAY@ Trout Brook Valley
June 5th, Sunday, 8:30–11:30 AM
Join ALT Board Member Lisa Brodlie and Princie Falkenhagen (ALT President and Connecticut Fund for the Environment Board Member) on a vigorous uphill hike to the orchard with great views to LI Sound.  Hike will continue through the blueberry patch, then down & across TBV to the red trail, with views of the Saugatuck reservoir. History of the area, along with plant identifications included. Terrain is difficult & appropriate for seasoned hikers only. Experienced hikers. Leashed dogs permitted. Bring a water bottle. Please arrive before the beginning hike time.

QIGONG & WALK @ Caryl & Edna Haskins Preserve
June 18th, Saturday, 9:30-11 AM
Come and enjoy the beauty and serenity of Westport's Haskins preserve. A Qigong class will be led by certified instructor Julie Moffat.
