Spending Time in Filene's Fairfield Basement

Suzy went bargain-hunting on Saturday and visited the new Filene's Basement, the store sharing space with Sym's at the circle at Exit 24 off 95.
We include Filene's on sightseeing itineraries when we visit cities across this country. What a luxury to have our very own Basement in Fairfield (and the first one in Connecticut)!
Just as we remembered, Filene's specializes in designer and brand-names for less -- much less. We couldn't believe the prices on party dresses. The coat inventory -- Michael Kors' puffers for $99 -- was vast. We noticed the Spanx pantyhose for just $11.99. Make sure you look for the table of Joe's Jeans for $89. There are also Seven jeans in the juniors' section. If you're looking for work clothes, this store is a gold mine. (If you love Missoni, get there fast for a collection of their sweater coats, priced at $400).
We didn't have time to explore Sym's, which ironically, is located in the basement of Filene's Basement. It's stocked with kids and men's apparel. We'll get back there very soon for great deals on great clothes.
