Meet the Hungry Girl at Stew's
Saturday, July 11, 2009

If you're a foodie who likes to eat guilt-free, you'll want to plan to head to Stew's on Thursday to meet Lisa Lillien, AKA The Hungry Girl.
WHAT:
Lisa Lillien is the creator of the wildly popular website and daily e-newsletter (www.hungry-girl.com) providing guilt-free food finds, recipes and survival strategies to 725,000 food-loving fans each day. Lisa is also the author of the New York Times bestselling cookbook, Hungry Girl: Recipes and Survival Strategies for Guilt-free Eating in the Real World. Now you can meet the guilt-free cooking whiz and best-selling author at Stew Leonard's Norwalk store as she signs copies of her newest cookbook, the #1 New York Times bestselling Hungry Girl-200 Under 200: 200 Recipes Under 200 Calories (St. Martin's Press, April 14, 2009; $19.95).
In addition to providing 200 recipes under 200 calories that replace indulgent favorites and offer new creations, Hungry Girl: 200 Under 200 delivers fun facts, helpful tips and top secret food finds with the same sassy wit subscribers love in Hungry Girl's daily e-newsletter. The recipes are organized into 14 fun chapters such as "Morning Minis," "Scoopable Salads," "Sweet Stuff," "Eggstravaganza," and "Yo, Cupcake!"
Lisa will kick off the event with a Q&A for customers before signing books. Samples of one of her cookbook recipes will be served.
WHO:
Lisa Lillien, aka Hungry Girl, is not a nutritionist. She is your typical gal struggling with the same food issues as everyone else. She does consider herself a "foodologist," though, as she is obsessed with food, how wonderful it is, and how much of it she can eat and still fit into her pants. Like many, Lisa struggled with her weight for many years and tried every diet under the sun. In 2001, she decided to change her eating habits once and for all and since has her weight under control. She learned that losing and maintaining weight is a long-term lifestyle, but one that doesn't have to mean losing out on the fun of food. So, she began scouring supermarkets and restaurants to fulfill her cravings for the guilty pleasures of her former lifestyle with replacement choices lower in fat and calories.
