Fourth of July in Fairfield
We've got Fourth of July fever!  Here's how to celebrate in Fairfield.

Fourth of July Bike Parade at Pequot Library
10 AM
Every Fourth of July, participants of all ages arrive at the Five Corners in Southport Village with their decorated bikes, scooters, and wagons to form a parade. Led by a Fairfield Police bicycle escort, the parade kicks off at 10am sharp, destination: the Great Lawn of the Library, where fun awaits.

4th of July Fireworks Celebration at Penfield & Jennings Beaches
The July 4th Fireworks are always held on the 4th of July in Fairfield with a rain date of July 5th.  Fireworks explode just after dark, usually around 9:15 PM, from a barge off of Long Island Sound so the show can be seen easily from either Penfield or Jennings Beaches.

The warm-up bands for the big show are:
The Atwood Express Oldies Band playing at Jennings Beach from 5 - 7 PM and
The Shamrogues playing at Penfield Beach from 7 - 9 PM.

Beach Parking Permits are not required and parking is free after 6:00 PM at both the Penfield and Jennings parking lots but they do fill up early.  Jennings has more ample parking.

In cases of Inclement Weather, call 203-256-3144.  For more information, Fairfieldrecreation.com.
