Kids
An Imagine Nation

Looking for an indoor, educational diversion for the kids on a rainy or hot day?
Suzy took a car full of six-year-olds to Imagine Nation Museum for Children in Bristol, about an hour's drive from Fairfield.
Imagine Nation is a science museum geared to kids ages 2 to 10. We found it much more manageable than Stepping Stones in Norwalk because of its more intimate size. (We didn't freak out when we couldn't find our kids after five minutes!). The exhibits were very kid-friendly and sneaky educational.
If you have a sports-mad son or daughter, this is a must-attend museum. Suzy's trio loved the ESPN TV studio where kids can read the sports news and see themselves on TV (ESPN's headquarters is just five miles from the museum). The bubble machine was also quite popular. There are volunteers throughout the three floors to help facilitate learning. And just when they get bored, children can take off their shoes and run through a playscape and burn off energy. Then, it's onto the rock climbing wall. Our favorite display was the space theater. Kids and adults will love the feeling that they are taking off in the space shuttle and landing on the moon.
Worth the drive... Admission is $7 per adult and child.
