Suzy in the City
A Day in the City
Sunday, January 13, 2008

Suzy and her family spent the day in the city Saturday visiting a few tried and true jaunts, while adding a new one to the list.
Next time you head in, here's an itinerary that will please the entire family:
First stop: The Paley Center for Media.
This hidden gem houses a collection of more then 140,000 television and radio programs. From reruns of your favorite old TV programs to reliving the tragedy of the Kennedy assassination. Listen to Old Blue Eyes on an original radio broadcast. See Neil Armstrong step onto the moon. There are numerous special daily screenings with great options for the entire family. A must visit on your next trip.
25 West 52nd Street. 212-621-6600

After The Paley, we were starved and headed to the East Village to one of our favorites since opening in 2006. Sarita's Mac and Cheese
Sarita was working the register. Every table was taken, and the mac & cheese delicious!
345 East 12th Street. 212-358-7912
We spent a few hours wandering the Village and then changed direction back towards midtown. It was a perfect day for walking. Lucky for us the Danny Meyer's well-known Shake Shack has winter hours. A couple of black and white shakes and one decadent hot chocolate topped with toffee marsmallow made for a perfect afternoon treat!
On the way back to Grand Central en route to home, we hopped on the #6 subway line. After going through the turnstiles, we began to notice a fair number of subway riders dressed only in their underwear. It wasn't until we were home in CT that we found the answer to what they were up to. Maybe Suzy will participate next year!
