Suzy first fell in love with Danny Meyer at the Big Apple BBQ about 5 years ago. It was the first time she feasted on the deliciousness of Blue Smoke! This block party is an absolute must for anyone who lives just a train ride from NYC. You'll taste some of the best BBQ in the USA, as award-winning pitmasters converge on Madison Square Park.

The Big Apple Barbecue Block Party takes place one weekend each June in Madison Square Park and surrounding streets, attracting people from near and far to celebrate America’s authentic culinary and musical traditions. Event admission is free, with award-winning barbecue and Southern-inspired fare from the country’s top pitmasters available for $8/plate. Live performances from emerging and established rock, blues and soul artists take place onstage throughout the day, and some of the country’s most innovative chefs share insights and cooking tips in the Seminar Tent.
This year’s Big Apple Barbecue Block Party, the 10th Annual, will take place Saturday & Sunday, June 9- 10, 2012, from 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
