The Newman Poses Nature Preserve will officially open on May 1st.
Head out and take a stroll on 39 acres of land in Westport that will now be known as the Newman Poses Nature Preserve. The preserve represents the town of Westport’s tribute to Paul Newman, a longtime Westport resident and supporter of local civic causes, including the Aspetuck Land Trust.

The Land Trust, the town of Westport and the Newman family worked together to ensure that this land will remain open space for the public and not be developed. Mr. Newman lived near the property and donated a large portion of the land to the town. lillian Poses, a neighbor of the Paul, also donated land to create this special space.
Thanks to the Newman family, the town of Westport, the Aspetuck Land Trust and all involved for this beautiful piece of land that we will all enjoy!
The preserve will be open to the public on May 1st and can be accessed off Bayberry Lane (north of Easton Road/Rte 136).
