Operation Finding Peace
Monday, May 14, 2012

You probably already know that a good yoga class can totally change your outlook on your day. It can open your mind, deepen your breath and calm any anxieties you’re feeling. Imagine what a real yoga experience could do for veterans and other service members.
The yogis at Kaia Yoga Center have teamed with yoga teachers Beryl Bender and Seane Corn to host an event to benefit the Yoga for Veterans program.
Thursday, May 17 from 3 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Begin the afternoon with 108 sun salutations, lead by Stan Woodman, to acknowledge and honor the work of America’s veterans. The class will be followed by a conversation about the physical and emotional benefits of yoga for American service members, highlighting the real and powerful impact yoga can have, in particular on individuals suffering from PTSD.
The evening wraps up with a silent auction.
Kaia Yoga wants everyone to understand that all contributions will make a difference. A $5,000 gift will provide 2 Veterans with scholarships to become certified Yoga instructors and Give Back to a community of their choice. A $1,000 gift provides 20 Veterans with PTSD iPad nanos loaded with deep relaxation meditations from yoga masters. And a $50 gift provides 3 Veterans Give Back Yoga CDs and book, Finding Peace.
