Attend First Night.

First Night is a safe, community-based, family-oriented, alcohol and drug-free New Year's Eve celebration through the arts. Started in 1976 in Boston, the founding goals were to bring the communities of Boston together in a joint celebration, while providing the public with an alternative way of ushering in the new year.

This year's party marks the 15th anniversary of First Night Westport/ Weston.
Enjoy new and favorite entertainers as they present an exciting, eclectic array of performances in a unique community celebration of the New Year.  Just about everything is an easy walk in downtown Westport from wherever you are.  Free shuttle buses will take you to any show you care to see:

Take the children to a real Circus and after each show they can pick up a trick or two at the Circus Workshop; have your faces exotically painted (and bring home a souvenir photo); take a horse and carriage ride through town and stop wherever a show excites you.

At venues all through town you can catch music from around the world - Traditional Irish, Southern Blue Grass, French Jazz, Latin American Salsa, Gospel, Rhythm & Blues, sultry Cabaret, and a special New Year's Eve treat – Carmen Appice's SLAMM!! – an explosive physical display rock and rhythm complete with special effects including streamer and confetti guns.

Stop for some tea and treats at Town Hall to have your fortunes told, palms and tarot cards read and your future possibly revealed.  Families will enjoy special activities including music and dance and have their faces or favorite pets captured by caricaturists.

Teens are catered for at Toquet Hall that is open all night, this year featuring Element and many popular local bands.

Gather 'round the all-night bonfire on Jesup Green for the family fireworks show at 7pm and later, for the midnight fireworks spectacle.

Delicious, hearty and healthy food will be available throughout the evening at various locations.

All happening in downtown Westport. Admission is a FIRST NIGHT button…..
at $15 it's the best value money can buy.  Children under 2 are free.
Buy early so you don't miss out!
