Build a Better Studier
Is your middle or high school student struggling with homework?  If you want to build a foundation for better studying as the school work gets harder and more intense, consider this workshop.  hosted by S4 – Successful Study Skills 4 Students offered on May 1st with a morning workshop for 8/9th grades, and an afternoon session for  6/7th grades, both at the Fairfield Public Library

Through an interactive step-by-step approach, students will learn specific methods and tools they will be able to apply to their schedules, workloads, notebooks, and even organize their backpacks. The classes are small (limit of 15 kids) which allow for personalized, hands-on practice and participation for all participants.

Student will Learn:
-Goal Setting and Time Management
-Note-Taking Skills and Methods
-The Importance of Asking Questions
-Understanding Main Ideas and Important Details
-Active Reading Strategies
-Generating Effective Questions
-Using Pictures and Graphic Organizers
-Summarizing to Learn
-Notebook Organization
-Test Preparation Strategies

When:
Saturday, May 1
Morning: 9:30-12:30 pm for 8 and 9th Graders: Study Skills with a focus on end of year tests and exams
NEW! Afternoon: 1:30 – 4:40 pm for 6 and 7th Graders: Study Skills to end the school year with a bang

Where:
The Fairfield Public Library
1080 Old Post Road
Memorial Room-2nd Floor

Cost: $250 per student. Attendance is limited to 15 kids per workshop on a first-come first-serve basis.
