Support Team Teddy!
Monday, March 19, 2012

It’s almost that time of year again in Fairfield where large groups of people – men, boys, and sometimes even women and girls – are seen around town sporting freshly-shaven heads. The reason behind this phenomenon is the large number of St. Baldrick’s events that take place throughout Fairfield in the month of March. Last year alone, over $460,000 was raised by 708 “shavees” at events in Fairfield. One such event is organized by Team Teddy, and will take place on Friday, March 23 at 6:00PM at Osborn Hill School.
Team Teddy was formed two years ago in support of Teddy Gerber, an Osborn Hill 3rd grader who was diagnosed with undifferentiated sarcoma, a very rare and very aggressive form of cancer. He bravely fought for nine months before passing away in August 2010. Over $200,000 was raised in 2010 and 2011 by Team Teddy, and now they're looking for a few (or more) brave souls willing to shave their heads and raise money to fight pediatric cancer. Please consider signing up, sponsoring a shavee, or coming to the event to support Team Teddy and witness an uplifting, community-building night in Fairfield.
