Parents, athletes and coaches should plan to attend A Town Hall Meeting: Pure Performance and the Negative Physical, Psychological, and Physiological Effects of Drugs and Alcohol on Athletes this Tuesday night at the Quick Center.
Tuesday, April 3 from 7:30 - 9:00 PM
You'll learn how to:
• Tap into the individual’s athletic motivation
• Address the concept of team and collective responsibility
• Educate an athlete in order for them to obtain optimum athletic potential
• Help reduce injury, allow for quicker recovery, better muscle development and training
• Produce better athletes, better performances, thus better teams. Off the field benefits: improvements academically, a decrease in disciplinary problems, promote character building.
John Underwood is a former NCAA All-American, International-level distance runner and World Masters Champion, he has coached or advised more than two dozen Olympians including World and Olympic Champions. He will address Pure Performance and the Negative Physical, Psychological, and Physiological Effects of Drugs and Alcohol on Athletes.
The event is free and open to the public.
