Third Annual Cocktails for a Cause to Benefit the Community Closet of Bridgeport
Thursday, October 25, 2007

The Community Closet is a site for the collection and distribution of clean, usable clothing and household linens to needy people in the greater Bridgeport area. Opened in 1992, the Community Closet is co-sponsored by the Community Relations Commission of the JCC and Family Services Woodfield. It is located in the FSW building, 475 Clinton Avenue in Bridgeport.
The Community Closet gives away, completely free of charge, clothing items to needy clients from over 75 area agencies and programs. It is open Monday through Friday, 10AM to noon during which time clients can select clothing and household items, and donations can be received.
The Closet always needs donations of seasonal children's clothing, large sizes for both men and women, as well as sheets and towels. Volunteers are also needed to sort and display donated clothing and to help clients find what they need.
