Tonight, grab your galpals for a night out at the The Horseshoe in Southport for the latest WiN Event.
Where: The Horseshoe Bar in downtown Southport
When: March 26th, 2009 7:30 PM
WiN's suggested donation is $20. In a little over a year, WiN has raised over $5,000.
Women in Need (WiN) is an organization set up by two women in Fairfield to help friends and neighbors.
The organization addresses the unmet needs of women in the community who are experiencing difficult financial circumstances. The money raised to date has directly assisted four women in the community. Referrals are submitted by Fairfield women about other Fairfield women who need help. Perhaps she or her husband has lost their job, maybe she is recently divorced or widowed, or she is just going through a tough personal time. The philosophy of WiN is based on a grassroots approach, no overhead, no formal solicitations-- just women helping women.
Several times a year, a gathering is help, money is collected and then anonymously delivered to the "women in need's" mailbox. Every dollar collected will directly benefit the women assisted.
