May I Have This Dance?
Before your kids get totally caught up in the manner-less digital age, give them a foundation of manners, etiquette and classic ballroom dancing through The Barclay Classes whose motto is Step by Step, Learning the Social Graces. Started in New Jersey over 75 years ago, these charming classes are held in 17 communities in five states. Tweens learn basic etiquette using ballroom dancing as the teaching guide. Classes are held for eight or ten one week sessions. The next session begins September 25th and spaces are still available.  Easy to learn steps to the Waltz, Fox Trot, Lindy, Cha Cha and Rumba are taught during the session.  They even liven up the classes with line dances and (gasp) rock-n-roll.

In this unique environment, the children find a sense of ease in social situations and form good manners that last a lifetime (hallelujah).  The teachers place emphasis on showing respect for yourself and others, courtesies to one another, and how to make a good first impression. Every galpal that Suzy knows who've had their kids attend this program rave about it.

Registration is underway for fall classes which begin September 25th. Children are grouped together by grade, Grades 3-5 and Grades 6-7. Classes are held at the First Church, 148 Beach Road, Fairfield.
