Discover the Audubon Society of Fairfield.
With two centers in town, the Birdcraft Museum (located near the train station) and the CT Audubon Society Center on Burr Street offer a wide-range of educational opportunities from toddlers to teens.
The Audubon Society offers seasonal classes for the younger set plus youth programs held after-school and weekends including weeklong summer day camps and classes. Classes, lectures and workshops related to birds and their habits and other environmental topics.

The Birdcraft Museum is literally a national treasure. Recognized as a National Historic Landmark in 1993, this remarkable facility includes an intimate natural history museum and an adjacent private songbird sanctuary, the oldest in the United States. Originally planted as a refuge to attract, harbor and feed migratory and resident birds, the six-acre site has documented records of more than 120 species of birds.
The Burr Street complex has more than seven miles of hiking trails.
Burr Annual Events:
Bird Seed Sales Days: Oct., Dec., Feb., April
Reptile Education Days: Sept. & April
Egg Hunt & Breakfast: Spring
Enchanted Forest: October
Make it a "green" birthday at CAS and celebrate with a party that is both fun and educational.
There are also adult classes in wildlife art and photography.
