Lions, and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!
The Beardsley Zoo is gem just minutes from Fairfield. What makes it especially great is that it's so manageable. You can spend an hour or the whole day seeing more than 300 animals representing primarily North and South American species.

The best show at the zoo is the Prairie Dog exhibit with "pop-up" viewing areas. The kids love to play peek-a-boo the adorable little creatures who love it just as much.

The newest animals at the zoo are two adult male Warthogs. They are just visiting so make sure to see them this summer. You can check them out in the outside yard toward the back of the tropical rainforest building. The two adult male warthogs on exhibit here are brothers.

Bring your own picnic or buy your lunch at the Peacock Cafe serving typical fast-food options. Also, don't forget to stop in the Carousel Building on your way out for a ride on the beautifully restored carousel.

Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo is open daily from 9 AM - 4 PM.
The New World Tropics Building is open from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM daily.
The Carousel Building is open seasonally from 10:30 AM to 4 PM.
