Fairfield Museum and History Center’s Four Exciting  History Camp Sessions in August Will Make the Past Come Alive
Want to discover how the children of colonial Fairfield lived?  Students in grades 1 – 2 and 3-5 will have that opportunity during four, one-week camping sessions in August at the 1750 Ogden House and Fairfield Museum and History Center.

Registration is underway now for these innovative camp sessions, according to Christine Jewell, director of education and community programs, and space generally fills quickly.

“These will be no ordinary camps,“ said Walt Matis, coordinator of volunteers at the Museum.  “Using the authenticity of a colonial home, we help students learn about their past and open their eyes to the future.

Through discussion and discovery campers will step back into Fairfield’s history and gain an appreciation of what their colonial counterparts experienced and accomplished long before there was electricity, running water and other modern conveniences.

Dates for the camp sessions are as follows:
Session 1:  August 13 – 17    9 am – 12 pm Grades 1 – 2
Session 2:  August 13 – 17    1 pm – 4 pm   Grades 3 - 5
Session 3:  August 20 – 24    9 am – 12 pm Grades 1 – 2
Session 4:  August 20 – 24    1 pm – 4 pm   Grades 3 – 5

The cost of the history camps is $175 for each Session + $50 family membership
